SOLOS, DUOS, ENSEMBLE

Queen Elizabeth Hall, London

Book

An evening of solos, duos, and ensemble pieces – small in scale but packing quite a punch. Hear Sir Harrison Birtwistle's Five Lessons in a Frame, which ‘frames’ a series of duets he wrote for London Sinfonietta musicians, as we celebrate the ensemble’s relationship with the composer in his 85th birthday year. The concert features the world premiere of Edward Nesbit's new piece for viola and ensemble performed by London Sinfonietta’s Principal Viola, Paul Silverthorne. The programme also includes the highly imaginative ensemble music of Chaya Czernowin.
