Acclaimed photographer Andreas Gursky creates large-scale, often spectacular pictures that portray the sites and scenes of contemporary life. From immense man-made structures and vast landscapes to the frenzy of the stock exchange and mass festival gatherings, Gursky chronicles our society in dazzling detail and ingenious compositions.

Coinciding with an exhibition of Gursky’s photography that launches in the newly re-opened Hayward Gallery in January 2018, the London Sinfonietta has commissioned some of today’s most talented composers to create musical responses to his work – scores that capture the rhythm, colour and complexity of the artist’s photographs.
