Night at the Library

Join us on the evening of Friday 21 September 2018 for London Sinfonietta's Night at the Library: an exclusive after-hours event at the British Library, celebrating 50 years of the London Sinfonietta and in aid of the ensemble’s future work.

The evening will feature pop-up performances of works by Sir Harrison Birtwistle, Colin Matthews and Deborah Pritchard, performed by London Sinfonietta players Jonathan Morton (Principal Violin), Scott Lygate and
Silvija Scerbaviciute (both LS Academy alumni). Enjoy a tour of the library’s iconic Treasures Gallery, and a curated look at its rarely-seen Michael Vyner Archive, presented by British Library Head of Music Collections Richard Chesser.

The evening will also include a canapé and drinks reception, a short film screening of rarely seen archive footage of the London Sinfonietta, and a silent auction of once in a lifetime experiences and prizes.
