Our work with schools

Our education work focuses on building strong relationships with schools in under-served areas, working with local music services to apply our resources where they are most needed.

This season we will be working with music education hubs in the boroughs of Haringey and Enfield on an innovative project called Sound Out. Supported by the London Music Fund, Sound Out provides support to primary school teachers with a series of teacher training sessions to help inspire their pupils to compose and develop their music- making skills. Taking inspiration from CPD workshops, concerts, and resources provided by the London Sinfonietta, students produce their own music which will be re-orchestrated and woven into a concerto-style work by composer Trish Clowes and premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in March 2019, played by a combined ensemble of London Sinfonietta players and young musicians from our partner borough’s three youth orchestras.

We're extremely excited to be working in partnership with the London Sinfonietta. Having the opportunity to work alongside professional composers and musicians is truly inspirational Jake Blair, Northumberland Park Community School
