Shining lights of new music

London

Book
Unsuk Chin © Priska Ketterer, Charlotte Bray © Nicholas Dawkes

This eclectic evening showcases new work from some of today’s leading composers, featuring the world premiere of a London Sinfonietta commission from Charlotte Bray, following her beautiful and intimate Sinfonietta Short on the Other Shore. Rebecca Saunders’ RPS award-winning Skin is a must-hear with its sumptuous textural patterns, whilst Unsuk Chin’s pantomime-inspired cosmigimmicks embraces the genre’s “often baffling mixture of ritual and nonsense” and makes for a captivating finish. The brilliant contemporary music conductor Peter Rundel also makes his debut conducting the ensemble.
