Instrumental techniques and Maurico Kagel
Mauricio Kagel was born on 24th December 1931 to a Jewish family (from Russia and Germany) in Buenos Aires in Argentina, though he has lived in Cologne in Germany since 1957. He says that he ‘feels a little foreign everywhere … which creates a beneficial distance from some things.’
He died in September 2008 and has a hugely established musical output.
Through his repertoire this pack explores instrumental techniques used in contemporary classical writing, as well as the use of sound and devices through the music of Henze and Stockhausen.
