LIGETI REMEMBERED
György Ligeti died in June 2006 and is considered as one of the most influential composers of the 20th Century. He is probably best known by the general public for his music which features in the Stanley Kubrick films 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Shining, and Eyes Wide Shut.
Ligeti felt strongly about the importance of continuing and building on our musical traditions:
"All new art follows a chain of tradition. You can't escape it.”
Inspired by the music of Ligeti his pack explores the process of composition and the many different forms that can be used
