In a unique and ambitious project, Varèse 360° presents the complete works of Varèse over one weekend as part of Southbank Centre's Ether festival 2010 - their annual music festival of innovation, art, technology and cross-arts experimentation.
London Sinfonietta deploy every instrument in the orchestral artillery alongside tape, sirens and theremin to create an unforgettable series of experiences, performing two concerts of the best-known, most powerfully expressive and characterful of Varèse's works.
The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain end the weekend with a gigantic orchestra of 175 players performing Varèse's large-scale masterpieces.
