These two concerts see the culmination of an intensive creative project celebrating the combining of music and words. Local history and memory have been the inspiration behind the project, focussing particularly on the HMS Ganges Museum in Shotley.
Composer Fraser Trainer and poet Dean Parkin have worked with London Sinfonietta musicians and local community groups to create brand new work which will be performed in these evening concerts, alongside exisiting London Sinfonietta repertoire and a newly commissioned piece by Fraser and Dean.
Felixstowe hosts Surf and Turf on Sat 5 July, when the project moves to another local area of Suffolk where we will celebrate the dramatic Suffolk coastline.
