Steve Reich Clapping Music
The London Sinfonietta gave the world premiere of Radio Rewrite, a new work from master of minimalism Steve Reich inspired by the music of Radiohead. Reich also performed Clapping Music.
Radio Rewrite is a co-commission by the London Sinfonietta and New York’s Alarm Will Sound.
Our Radio Rewrite tour took us from London to Birmingham, Brighton and Glasgow, performing live to over 9,500 people in 5 days. We have collated all the reviews and a selection of audience tweets from this busy week on our blog.
The photos from our Radio Rewrite journey are now available to browse through on our Flickr page.
We have photos from our Clapping Music Workshop which took place in February, as well as our Repeating Patterns Schools Concert at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall and exclusive photos from the rehearsal and world premiere performance of Radio Rewrite.
As part of the Repeating Patterns Schools Concert, the KX Collective - a young group of musicians from the King's Cross area with a passion for exploring and creating new music - performed their piece ReReich. Listen to the work here.
Be a part of making new music happen and help support this new work. We are still accepting donations towards Radio Rewrite until the end of September 2013.
