London Sinfonietta at Blank Canvas

Programme to include:

Dai Fujikura Prism Spectra
Leafcutter John new work

Blank Canvas, created by Chimera Productions in 2007 and described by the Evening Standard as “an edgy evening that celebrates Squarepusher every bit as much as Stravinsky” has gained a solid reputation for its experimental programming and commitment to pioneering new music and audio-visual performance.

To mark the launch of the new partnership between Blank Canvas and Village Underground, Mark Fell (SND) has been invited to re-work his stunning new album Multistability (Raster-Noton 2010) into an immersive surround-sound experience, unique to this event and space. Uncut described the album as “…completely mindblowing” and The Wire said it was “Astonishing”.

We have also commissioned renowned experimental musician Leafcutter John to create a new animated score to partner his existing score; both of which will be realized by the London Sinfonietta.

US violist Anne Lanzilotti and IRCAM-based Manuel Poletti perform Dai Fujikura's Prism Spectra for Viola and Electronics - the UK-premiere of this mesmerising piece.
