Thomas Larcher is one of the most distinctive voices on the European new music scene, with an exclusive recording contract on the über-cool ECM label. Yet he is little known in the UK. The London Sinfonietta's portrait concert on 30 September seeks to alter that, featuring Larcher as soloist in his own piano concerto alongside a new song-cycle which brings together the extraordinary baritone of Matthias Goerne and the poetry of one of Austria's most incisive writers, Ingeborg Bachmann.
