Luciano Berio Sequenzas for clarinet, trombone and viola
Over the course of over 40 years, Luciano Berio wrote 14 works with the title Sequenza: pieces which redefined the possibilities of solo instrumental performance.
Yet, the Sequenzas are far more than mere studies in technique – each work is imbued with a unique character of its own.
Stephen Johnson is joined by three of the London Sinfonietta's Principal Players to delve into this extrovert, virtuosic soundworld as part of the BBC Discovering Music series.
