Samir Odeh-Tamimi Hutaf al Arwah II (UK premiere)
Three UK premieres introducing the music of three leading contemporary voices from the Arabic world; Palestinian composer Samir Odeh-Tamimi, Moroccan Ahmed Essyad and Egyptian Amr Okba. Their music is heard alongside works by three generations of British composers, including the London premiere of Tansy Davies' London Sinfonietta Blue Touch Paper commission and Peter Maxwell Davies' 1977 masterpiece inspired by the crucible of light created when the sun strikes the bay outside his cottage in Orkney.
